Chitai Temple

Chitai Temple or Golu Devta Temple is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Golu Devta who is popularly known as Goljyu Devta. Golu Devta is the historical god of the Kumaon region as well as the eastern Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The temple was constructed in the 12th century by a general belonging to the Chand Dynasty.
Golu Devta is famous as the God of justice or Nyaya ke Devta. The temple holds a great religious value and devotees offer their prayer by the means of white cloth, pagri, and white shawl. The belief of locals says any issue related to legal cases are solved or fullfiled by writing it down on a white paper and tying it along with a bell in the temple . Every day this temple of Golu Devta is visited by thousands of pilgrims in order to get their wishes fulfilled.

Dandeshwar Temple

Dandeshwar Temple is a significant historical and religious site situated in the Jageshwar Valley in Almora district of Uttarakhand, India. It forms a part of the Jageshwar Temples Group, a complex of 124 large and small stone temples dating from the 9th to the 13th centuries. Dandeshwar Temple, slightly upstream from the main Jageshwar Temple site, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered the largest shrine in the complex. The temple architecture exhibits the ancient Nagara style, with its characteristic curvilinear tower. The temple complex is located amidst dense deodar forests with a backdrop of towering hills, adding to the serene and mystical ambiance of the place.

Jageshwar Dham

Jageshwar Dham is a large temple complex containing about 125 temples and 174 sculptures. It is situated on the bank of Jata Ganga at an elevation of 1870 meters in the Almora district of Uttarakhand surrounded by deodar forest. According to Hindu mythology, the belief of Jageshwar Dham is Lord Shiva and Sapta rishi meditated (Tapasya) here and this place became so powerful that whatever wish a person asked for whether ethical or unethical was granted. Later in the 8th century, Adi Shankaracharya meditated here before leaving for Kedarnath Dham and reduced the power of this place by making it to ethical wishes that would not harm others will only be fulfilled.The mesmerizing ambiance of Jageshwar Temple is quite suitable for meditation. Many devotees visit this temple to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva.

Jhankar Saim Mahadev Temple

Jhankar Saim Mahadev Temple is the popular temple located in Jageshwar of Almora district. This temple is situated in the Jageshwar Dham temple complex, which is in the south of Jageshwar. According to legend, Lord Shiva used to perform penance at this place. During austerity, the monster used to obstruct their penance. Then Lord Shiva Jhankar Saim came in the form of Trinetra and sent his ganas to kill the monsters. This temple has a great religious significance. This temple is surrounded by dense forests of deodar. During the journey of Jageshwar Dham, devotees go to darshan of this temple. Kasar Devi Temple

Kasar Devi is a famous temple on a hilltop dedicated to the local deity of Kasar Devi, situated 8 km away from Almora, Uttarakhand. Very close to Crank's Ridge, this place gained prominence after the hippie movement of the 1960s and 1970s. It is known for the many luminaries that have visited it like Bob Dylan, Timothy Leary, Allen Ginsberg, Cat Stevens and Swami Vivekananda. They have meditated in the calm and quiet of this beautiful location, hidden in the Kumaon Hills. Katarmal Sun Temple

Katarmal Sun Temple is at an altitude of 2116 meters above sea level, in the Kumaon Division of Uttarakhand, India. The Old Shiva temple, located 3 kilometres uphill from Jageshwar, is claimed to be Shiva’s residence before he came down to Jageshwar. One of the most fascinating qualities of both Jageshwar and Vriddha Jageshwar is the unwavering peace they radiate.Jageshwar is a collection of 124 small and large temples located 36 kilometres east-northeast of Almora, in a valley surrounded by lush deodar trees. The name ‘Darukavan’ comes from the presence of deodar trees. It was given the name ‘Yageshwar’ because of the yogis’ yoga, and it was given the name ‘Hateshwar’ because of the magnitude of the earthly worship in Sawan and the big festival of Shivaratri, as well as the celebration of the fairs held during these festivals.
